LPG in South America is essential for households and a wide range of commercial, agricultural, and industrial activities. Its ease of storage and transportation makes it possible to supply communities and consumption centers that are not connected to a pipeline gas network.
In South America, where distances and access conditions vary from country to country, having adequate infrastructure is essential to ensuring a continuous supply. LPG plant tanks help manage inventories; semitrailers and bobtail trucks connect supply points with distributors and customers; and stationary tanks keep LPG available at the point of consumption.
In this context, on September 29, 2026, Lima, Peru, hosted the 1st International LPG Congress, organized by the Peruvian Liquefied Petroleum Gas Society (SPGL) under the theme “Accessible Energy for All”.
LPG in South America
The event brought together experiences from Peru, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, and other markets to analyze the industry’s challenges and opportunities. The agenda highlighted five key topics:
- International Outlook: Sharing experiences and perspectives across markets in the region.
- Energy Security: Ensuring supply continuity and the ability to respond to contingencies.
- Accessible Energy: The role of LPG in reducing energy poverty and supporting productive development.
- Peruvian Market: Opportunities for autogas, competitiveness, and formalization challenges.
- The Future of the Industry: Innovation, global outlook, and LPG’s role in the energy transition.

TATSA participated as a sponsor of this inaugural event and was recognized by the SPGL among the companies that made the gathering possible.
Our participation reflects TATSA’s commitment to developing infrastructure for the LPG industry across Latin America. It also gave us the opportunity to connect with key players in the South American market, learn about their needs, and contribute to discussions about the future of the industry.

These forums strengthen collaboration among authorities, associations, and companies to promote a more reliable supply chain, supported by infrastructure capable of meeting the region’s growing needs.
